保持焊接頭部清潔，一般自動焊錫機在高溫工作中，容易產生飛塵，或者為通電的自動焊錫機烙鐵頭長期處于高溫狀態，其表面很容易氧化或燒死，使烙鐵頭導熱性能變差而影響焊接質量。因此，自動焊錫機為了能提高烙鐵頭的壽命，很多焊錫機上面設置了自動吹氣裝置。

焊錫機

焊錫機工作時間不宜過長，焊接時間的恰當運用也是焊錫工藝的重要環節。如果是電路板插件的焊接，一般以2～3s為宜。焊接時間過長，焊料中的助焊劑完全揮發，失去助焊作用，使焊點表面氧化，造成焊點表面粗糙、發黑、不光亮、帶毛刺等缺陷。助焊劑的作用就是使錫絲在接觸高溫狀態中的烙鐵頭后快速地使焊盤鋪滿錫，錫絲中的助焊劑含量越高，融化后的錫鋪滿焊盤的速度越快。自動焊錫機的同行之中，對錫絲助焊劑含量要求都在3%左右。

自動焊錫機出現虛焊的解決方法，總的來說就是烙鐵頭接觸焊盤，盡量壓到，方便導熱。 焊接的溫度要適當，不能過高、也不能過低（控制溫度很重要）焊點凝固的過程中，切記不要用手觸碰焊點。焊點在未完全凝固前，即使有很小的震動也會使焊點變形，引起虛焊。因此，在烙鐵頭撤離之前對焊接件要予以固定，預留焊點凝固的時間。
